THE CHINESE CONNECTION DVD is probably one of Goodtimes better DVD's. Though there is a great lack of extra features, the quality isn't nearly as bad as some Simitar releases.

The movie follows Bruce Lee who treats his master's killers to a bit of revenge. Lee is at his best as he beats his opposition to a pulp. I don't think he takes a punch through the whole movie.

The picture quality isn't bad. The films does looks it's age and I wouldn't be surprised if this was a print shown in theatres. I could swear I see the little round circles in the upper right hand corner that signal a change of a film reel. The transfer is better than some of the Media Asia titles I've seen.

The sound is dubbed in English. This the only choice for the audio which is disappointing because I like watching a movie in the original language. There are a few times when it seems like a sound effects missing. This is probably how the master was. Overall the sound was probably as good as it could be considering the source material.

This DVD is the better of the two domestic releases of this title. I believe the other one may be P&S but I am not sure. For the price of this movie, I wasn't disappointed in its lack of features. It must be one of the most minimilistic menus I have yet to see. There is an import of this movie that I haven't seen yet so I can't say if that one is better. If this is part of the Bruce Lee Collection that is coming out soon you may want to hold of and see what that one has going for it.

I felt like I was in an old theater when I watched this. It's good to have if your a Bruce Lee fan but I would wait for the collection to come out. Considering Goodtimes' reputation, this is probably one of their better releases.
