Michelle Yeoh stars as a business woman who plots daring robberies for millions of dollars. George Lam is the representative for an insurance company who gets closer than the police to the case and falls in love along the way. This movie is very similar to the Thomas Crown Affair.

The picture is good considering the age of the film. The colors are rich and well balanced. The original print is very good and doesn't show the wear and tear that many other Hong Kong films do. There are no signs of artifacts at all and the dark scenes also look good. This looks much better than some of Universe's other releases.

The sound is the typical bad 5.1 remix. There are some scenes where the sound effects are just annoying. One scene in particular has people taking pictures and the cameras are incredibly loud. There are other times when the sound effects and music take away from the movie. At least the sound is in sync. Overall, the soundtrack is tolerable but as usual, the original mono track would have been so much better.

The subtitles were well done and didn't contain many errors. They do not appear on the bottom black bar so you can watch this one without any problems on a widescreen TV.

The extras consist of trailers for MAGNIFICENT WARRIORS and ROYAL WARRIORS. There are also the usual Star's Files that give a brief overview of the careers of Michelle Yeoh, George Lam, and Stephen Shin.

EASY MONEY is definitely not an action movie. If you know this before watching the movie you will enjoy it more. It's great seeing Michelle Yeoh in a different type of role. This is more of a movie you would rent instead of buy unless you are a Michelle Yeoh fan. The story is a little slow at times but overall it is a decent movie that deserves a watch.
