PRISON ON FIRE is a gritty prison drama starring Chow Yun- Fat as a seasoned inmate who tries to make a newcomer's stay a little more bearable. The newcomer (Tony Leung), learns that prison has it's own sets of rules and sometimes you have to play the game to survive.

The Picture quality is good but sometimes looks a little washed out. The print looks a little old but overall is satisfactory. The picture quality is comparable to THE NAKED KILLER. Not perfect, but about average.

I watched the movie with the Cantonese language selected. The soundtrack was in sync with the action. Like most re-mixes, the front speakers were used primarily with the back speakers being used barely if at all. The sound was balanced and the voices were never drowned out by sound effects or music.

The extras consist of trailers for PRISON ON FIRE I and II. There are also filmographies of the main stars and Ringo Lam.

PRISON ON FIRE is a good movie if you are a fan of prison films. Ringo Lam and Chow Yun-Fat fans will also enjoy this movie. The DVD quality overall is about average but is definitely worth it if you are a fan of the film.
