STREET ANGELS is about two nightclubs that compete for business. Chingmy Yau's character helps her boyfriend (Simon Yam) escape after killing a rival in a bowling alley. Since her boyfriend is gone, she works at Mann's nightclub to support herself and family. The competing club starts to make a move to take over and calls in Simon Yam to get the job done.
The picture quality is pretty good. This is a pleasant surprise. The movie isn't that old but there are newer movies like THE MISSION that do not look this good. The colors are rich and bright and the night scenes hold up without getting muddy looking.

The sound is the original mono soundtrack which is great. The sound was very evenly mixed and didn't suffer from some of the out of place sounds that the 5.1 remixes have.
There isn't much as far as extras go. There is a chapter search and you can choose between the Cantonese and Mandarin soundtracks, both in mono. The subtitles could not be turned off, this doesn't really bother me but it makes the screenshots for the reviews neater when I can turn them off.

Overall, STREET ANGELS is a pretty good movie. It's more of a DVD that you'd be better off renting than buying unless you are a major Chingmy Yau or Simon Yam fan. The quality of the picture is impressive. I don't know if I'm saying that just because the last few reviews were from Simitar or not. There weren't many features but for the price that is fine. The movie is rated Category IIB because of some nudity.
