THE UNTOLD STORY is definitely one or the more disturbing films I have ever seen. I thought it was great. Anthony Wong definitely deserved the award he received for his role as the brutal murderer who chops his victims up and makes food out of them. This movie is not for the squeamish due to very graphic murders with butcher knives. It says all over the DVD box that this is based on a true story.

How does it look? The picture is very good on this DVD. When Tai Seng gets to do a movie themselves they do a real good job of it. There were no artifacts or any breaking up of the picture at all. The film print they used seems to have been in very good condition.

The DVD sounds pretty good. All the sound comes from the front speakers. It is evenly mixed with the dialogue, never being drowned out by sound effects. The dialogue is pretty fast in this movie at times and the subtitles go by real quick. They are very in sync with the audio and they are not distracting.

There are several movie trailers on this DVD. They are all Anthony Wong movies. This is a nice touch by Tai Seng. I wish some of the major movie studios put these on DVD's.

There are also two commentary tracks on this DVD which I will add to this review later.

THE UNTOLD STORY reminds me of the old horror/slasher movies of the 70's and 80's for some reason. The big difference is that this looks real and there are times when you forget you are watching a movie and think you are watching reality. I liked this movie a lot. I could have done without the cops being the comic relief. It was jarring and out of place. Aside from this minor thing, I would recommend this DVD. It is not for everybody but if you like disturbing movies, this is for you.
