Yes, Madam! is a good action movie with some comedy mixed in. Michelle Yeoh is excellent as a cop who must track down a stolen passport that contains vital evidence to prove some documents were forged. When the passport is stolen, she teams up with Cynthia Rothrock to track down the bumbling thieves (led by Tsui Hark) in order to find the people behind the forgery.
The fight scenes are excellent in this movie and the final battle is worth the price of the DVD alone. There are some comedic scenes that are a little goofy. I could do without these but the action more than makes up for those.
The picture quality is acceptable. The print is a little faded at times and looks its age but it is never distracting. There are some imperfections in the print but it isn't bad. There are no obvious artifacts or other problems with the transfer itself.
The sound is a 5.1 remix. It seems awkward at times and as with the other re-mixes, I wonder why they bother. Almost all the sound comes from the front speakers. I don't think there is any sound from the back speakers at all. There are times when it sounds like a sound effect is missing but I haven't seen this in the theater so I can't be sure of that.
The extras are very basic. It has chapter stops and filmography's. It also has a trailer as well as trailers for EASY MONEY, ROYAL WARRIORS, and MAGNIFICENT WARRIOR.
Overall, this DVD is fairly average as far as quality goes. This doesn't mean it's bad. If you are a fan of the movie you shouldn't be disappointed if you pick this up. Many people love or hate this movie but everybody agrees that the final fight scene is excellent. Michelle Yeoh and Cynthia Rothrock both do some incredible moves. If you are a Michelle Yeoh fan this is definitely worth checking out. Some may be put off by the comedy but I think the action scenes make up for it.
